1st March 2012 – Introductory talk and ‘The Sisters’

Join us this evening at 8pm in Ryan’s of Trimgate Street, Navan for the opening night of what promises to be an exciting series of evenings on James Joyce’s Dubliners. The first evening will be divided in two sections. We will begin with an introductory talk on Joyce’s first great work, covering such subjects as the book’s major themes, how Joyce’s biography is reflected in the stories, the writing and publication history of Dubliners and much else besides. Following this introduction the second half of our evening will be spent reading and discussing the book’s first story The Sisters. The evening will run from 8pm until approximately 10pm or 10:30pm with a short break in the middle.

Note: There is a fee of €50 payable on 1st March. This fee covers the entire series of ten evenings. A discount is offered to married couples: €80 per couple.
